For BIG Travel – as for most organisations – the environment is a central issue. Respect for the environment is one of the foundations for a long-term and sustainable society and this is what BIG Travel strives to contribute towards.

BIG Travel constantly strives to reduce its impact on the environment both in terms of the work we do in our offices and outlets and by providing our clients with an environmentally friendly travel service. We do this by making our clients and partners aware of our thinking on the environment before, during and after the execution of their travel arrangements, and stressing that it is important that they respect the rules and values that active environmental initiatives require. We make sure that our procedures comply with legislation and any other requirements in the environmental area that apply to our activities.

The 1.6 & 2.6 Million Club is a not-for-profit women’s health organisation that was founded in 1998 with the aim of improving healthcare for women. The organisation disseminates information about – and provides inspiration to improve – women’s health. It also defends the position of women in society generally, including in the labour market and as culture bearers.  They work towards the gender perspective becoming a compulsory part of medical research and education. They also undertake women’s health projects of their own with a focus on preventive healthcare and the dissemination of knowledge and expertise.

The name of the association came about because in 1998 there were 1.6 million women over the age of 45 in Sweden. Ten years later, in 2008, the 2.6 Million Club was established for younger women from the age of 25 upwards. The 1.6 and 2.6 Million Clubs have the same objective – we want to improve women’s health and well-being. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join as a member of the association (this includes men).

The 1.6 and 2.6 Million Clubs have about 33,000 members, making them one of the country’s largest non-political women’s associations. The organisation publishes a magazine, books and calendars, and arranges around 40 seminars and political hearings per year. In addition, it organises travel, excursions, and sports and cultural events.
